GOOD SATURDAY, [sign in to see URL] MY FRIENDS!

Hubby messed me up, and decided he needed today off. So we slept in, which was easy as it's dark and overcast with possible rain today.
[sign in to see URL] might go down to Boise to the Spring and Garden show. Love those kinds of things. Then of course, since we are down there we will just check out all our favs. SO I WILL NOT be back online today. HOPE you all have a great day today!

AND, [sign in to see URL]'s on my favorite flower. Lilacs! emoticon

GOOD SUNDAY, [sign in to see URL] MY FRIENDS!

Hubby and I had a lovely day yesterday. He actually slept in till almost 8am. Boy, did he need that. Then we had breakfast out, went to the Home and Garden show, got a ton of wonderful ideas. Then stopped at Heritage Reflections, that Amish [sign in to see URL] cleaning sale. The whole store was 20% off, and several huge tables were 65% off. Got some new pretties, then had a nice meal out for dinner and came home and relaxed. Today it is very dark and raining, Mom JUST [sign in to see URL] said she did not feel good enough to go out. Her pain meds make her sick and even the nausea stuff is not helping. She has tried two kinds of pain meds, but they all make her [sign in to see URL], no dinner out. Poor thing. Hopefully her knee with not hurt to much soon and she won't need to take the meds............ ♥
I hope you all are having a great weekend.

SUSA, I'm so glad you do not have to go out. If our weather head your way, then you will be getting warmer and wetter! emoticon

Hi Queeny. I feel badly for your mom that she can't seem to take any pain meds. I sure hope that she is out of pain very soon.

Today, I put up my new smoke alarms. The two I have had in the kitchen and music studio were very old, though they still worked. I keep hearing that they are past their life span. I have had a couple in my saved space on Amazon for months and the price went down $30, so this past week I got them. These are smoke/carbon monoxide detectors and they have 10 year batteries in them. Now, I only have one detector left that I need to change the battery in every year. It is in the storage room. Last year I put 10 year alarms in my bedroom and my mom's bedroom.

GOOD MONDAY, [sign in to see URL] MY FRIENDS!

Today we had an electrician come in to give us an estimate on installing a large ceiling fan in the living room. We have high ceilings in there and it would help with the heating and cooling costs. It's kind of a pain in the butt spot, no attic access.
But he gave us a fair estimate. And we told him we would like to have it done. So as soon as we buy the fan we want, we are to call him and he will get to us as soon as he can.
So not much going on, cept laundry. And I got the cat boxes cleaned already.
Hope you all had a great weekend and a decent Monday!

SUSA, I'm glad you changed those out. We have 10 years ones in this house. The lady before us, had those $[sign in to see URL] ones from Walmart. I just don't trust them... emoticon

Hi Queeny! I hope you find just the fan you want. I do have a ceiling fixture in the great room, but it on one end of the room. It is where the dining area was supposed to be. I don't think I am going to bother looking into a fan for there. I am sorry that you don't have a place in your ceiling that it would be simple to put your fan.

I wish that two years ago, when I bought the smoke alarm for the storage room, I had known about the 10 year alarms, but at least I am down to only replacing one battery at intervals.

Today, I got my apples at the grocery store near the vet's. I can go about two weeks until I need to go to Walmart for groceries. I thought perhaps I would have to go at the end of this week, but when I looked at my list, there was nothing on it except apples. I got a rotisserie chicken, today, too and some mashed potatoes. They were near the apples.

GOOD TUESDAY, Mar. 21st MY FRIENDS!

Well, I'll only be here for a hour or so. Then Hubby and I have to take Ginger down to WestVet in Garden City. About an hours drive from here, one way. To have the surgeons/specialist look at her.
Honestly, if they say she needs surgery, I'm not sure what we will do. Just putting her foot in a splint sent her spiraling down! And the last week now, she's been using it, limping yes, but she does not seem in pain. She is walking, jumping up and down on the couch, using her litter box and eating very well. I guess, I figured we MADE the appointment, (it's hard to see the specialist, Doc called for us. Probably because she is stumped!), but we made have the appointment, might as well see what they say. Will probably cost and arm and a leg! LOL
[sign in to see URL] will probably be most of my day. As just the driving alone is 2 hours. Then however long the visit is and what, if anything they are going to do.
[sign in to see URL] might see you all again late today.
HAVE A GREAT DAY ♥

SUSA.........I have a fan the bedroom too. The living room gets so hot in the afternoons because it has huge picture windows, and they are old, so not much protection. And that room is the only one that gets overly warm. I hate having the AC come on just for that room. That is where the thermostat is. So we cool the living room and freeze our buns off in the back bathroom! LOL
Glad you got some goodies. I like Walmarts rotisserie chicken. Hubby and I will have one meal out of it. Then I take all the meat off the bones and we use that chicken for chicken salads for lunch the rest of the week.

Queeny, I hope that things went well with Ginger.

Roy came today. He is sort of getting re-started after being away for awhile. Of course, I always enjoy when he comes. With the weather getting better, he will probably be able to get out more. I also checked the kids' bedroom, because Kate said there were crumbs on the bed. It wasn't crumbs. It was mud from Garett's shoes last night. There were also mud track in the music studio, so I cleaned both rooms. I didn't wash the bedspread yet because I was doing two other loads of clothes, today, so after my students, tomorrow, I will wash that.

GOOD WEDNESDAY, [sign in to see URL] MY FRIENDS!

WOW! Yesterday was one long day. Gingers appointment was at 10am. They got us in about 10:45am. Did a 2 doctor thorough exam. And wanted us to leave her, so they could run a barrage of tests. Fabulous hospital, wonderful [sign in to see URL] even printed up ALL they would be doing, and gave an estimate on how much. A low number and a high number and let us decide from there. Hubby said, "Ouch!" But we agreed that for most of the things they described, where the treatment would be some form of medicine, that she deserved a chance. AS for the dislocated wrist. It was dislocated, hence the swelling. But it had at one time, a LONG time ago, been broken. But they all agreed that they had NEVER seen that type of break in a cat. Rarely in dogs, and then ONLY in Racing Greyhounds! They had to have all the docs, staff and even the radiologist look at the x-rays, just too weird to believe.
Anywho in order for them to DO all the testing and to draw fluid from several joints to look for infections, or diseases like Lime Disease, she had to be sedated and all these fluid, blood, x-rays and what not to be performed. We had to leave her there, as they were going to "work" her in between the appointments, so we did not have to come back down. [sign in to see URL] were there from 10AM to 7PM! Long freaking day. Lunch out, wandered the mall, shopped for a ceiling fan, FOUND ONE, it is ordered and might be in by next Saturday. Then Dinner [sign in to see URL] we FINALLY picked her up, paid a small ransom and headed home. She's sleeping comfortably. She has 4 doses of a liquid pain medicine, as the sites where they drew fluid might hurt. Now we wait, to see if they can find a course of action for her joints in total. Surgery was ruled out on the dislocated wrist as she did so horribly with the splint, totally giving up (they actually call it "splint/cast paralyzes). And the break is so old there is nothing really that can be done for that.
SO, today I'm doing laundry and taking it easy. To much walking yesterday. Back, hips and feet hurt! LOL
I'll be [sign in to see URL] you all had and will have a great day!

SUSA, Oh I am so glad that ROY came. His health is terribly worrying! emoticon I hope with the better weather he can get out more. I like it when you two can solve the worlds problems. emoticon

I am so glad that you saw this vet. Things are starting to look up for Ginger. I bet she thought that yesterday was a long day, too. I am glad that everything got done in one day, even though it was many hours.

Today, I cleaned out my summer clothes. I got rid of a lot of old things. I put the clothes out for the trash. I didn't think that even the poor would want what I got rid of. Maybe a couple of the things someone would have wanted, but most of it not. I had things that I wore to work for 10 years and I quit work 14 years ago.

GOOD THURSDAY, Mar. 23rd MY FRIENDS!

Busy day for me again. Already have the garbage collected and out to the curb. I need to stop by Mom and Dad's and pick up their grocery shopping list. (Mom does not feel up to walking that much yet). Then I will head out to have the two cortisone shots in my big toes. Then go grocery shopping. Stop by the pharmacy and pick up two prescriptions for Ginger. (If they are done). Take Mom and Dad's groceries home to them, put them away. I "think" Dad wants a Haircut. Might give that to him tomorrow. Then come home and put my own groceries away. [sign in to see URL] not know when I will be back on line. Hopefully this afternoon sometime. YOU ALL HAVE A GREAT DAY!

SUSA
GOOD FOR YOU! Cleaning out my closets is always a chore. Well not so much for me, but HUBBY! I could toss half his [sign in to see URL] they are "his favorites"...... emoticon

I'm certain Ginger thought it was a long day too. That night when we got home, even though she was a bit groggy, she would not let me out of her sight. AND when we sat down to watch [sign in to see URL] HAD to be touching her [sign in to see URL] wee unhurt paw, would reach out and try to pull his arm towards her. She got a lot of petting...... emoticon

Awwwwww, poor Ginger. I sure hope that things are turning for the better now.

I got up late this morning. I don't think I have yet adjusted to the time change. I should start setting an alarm until I fall into a better routine. My students came and they did pretty good. I was pleased with them.

GOOD FRIDAY, Mar. 24th my FRIENDS!

Overcast and cloudy with lots of rain coming today and possibly tomorrow.
I'm washing up bedding today. Sure slept in nice! Might go over and cuts Dad's hair this afternoon if he feels like it.
So Gingers new medicine is really disgusting. It's in a "fish oil base". AND GAG! It stinks and it's oily. She hates it, but all my cats dislike most fish flavored food. She's good about taking her meds, does not fight much when I have to give it to her twice a day. I also have to give her two FULL syringes of water afterwards or the medicine can cause issues in her throat.
Hope she does not need it for long as it's $35 for a two week prescription.
As for me, got my two cortisone shots. The left big toe did NOT want to let go so he could pull it far enough out to get the needle between the bones, and I swear he hit EVERY nerve in there! Still hurts like heck today, and it throbbed all night. I'll give it over the weekend for the cortisone to start working, if not I will give them a call.
Other than [sign in to see URL] much else going on.
HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A GREAT FRIDAY!

SUSA, I slept in this morning! emoticon

Hi Queeny. I sure hope your toe feels better tomorrow. How is Ginger doing with her medicine? I know you said she is your easiest cat to give medicine to, but this stuff sounds awful.

How is your newest bird feeder doing? Have the birds adjusted to it yet? Is it easy to use?

I had a rather boring day, today. I did read and my book is really good, but it makes me have a lot of questions. I am on book 6 of those Mormon books and things are getting more controversial to me. Queeny? Is your father still Mormon or did he leave Mormonism when your parents got married?

April's live feed has been offline so no one know what is happening with the baby giraffe. I hope it comes back online, soon.

GOOD SUNDAY, [sign in to see URL] MY FRIENDS!

WHEW! Yesterday was fun, and we got our exercise in. About noon decided it was going to stay cloudy and windy here, so went downtown Boise to the Flower and Garden show. First, had to park 2 city blocks [sign in to see URL]'s crazy downtown. Then we walked the Garden show. Got a lot of great ideas. The only thing we bought was Chocolates from The Weiser Classic Candy place! LMAO Oh, we love those folks. Then we left there, walked back to the car, dropped off the chocolate, then walked 5 blocks in the other direction to the TreeFort Music Festival! [sign in to see URL]! THAT place was nuts! I've never see so many people smashed into one place drinking beer and listening to music! LOL WE did not stay long. But by the time we got BACK to the car, we had walked ourselves to death! LOL Needed some good Thai food!
THEN headed home. MIGHT get outside today. It's not very warm. Only 34 right now. And the highs are to be only in the mid 50's.
But we shall [sign in to see URL] just clean house and lay low!
HOPE YOU ALL HAD A GREAT WEEKEND!

HI SUSA....Toe is all better! Back to what it's supposed to feel like when I get a shot! emoticon
Ginger really is the easiest cat to medicate.
And it's good, because this stuff is totally disgusting. And if she were a fighter, I'd have that oily fish smell all over her!
I think it's helping. She is walking, where and when she wants. She is using the litter box on her own and even joined me in my bed to sleep. I did made "steps" to get up there.
She does sleep a [sign in to see URL] still walks with weird joints, but not as bad.
I hope I get a call from that vet at WestVet tomorrow about all the tests!
As for the newest bird feeder, the birds are loving it. I think the Northern Flickers have moved on. I don't hear them calling any more, anywhere in the neighborhood. They do have a very distinct call.

I can imagine those Mormon books are very controversial. I'm not sure I could or would read them.

quote:

Queeny? Is your father still Mormon or did he leave Mormonism when your parents got married?

Dad left when he and Mom got married. No, he left long before that. He left his abusive father and went on his own and dropped out of school and worked the mines and what ever other jobs he could get when he was 15.
He only started to go back to church after he married my Mom.

I am glad that Ginger is doing better. That is very positive. I think about her a lot. I am also glad that the birds like your new feeder. It is fun to get new things like bird feeders and especially when the birds like them a lot, too. I am sorry that your dad had an abusive father. It is really good that he met your mom. It is good for us, too, because otherwise our Queeny would not be around.

I have one more question. Do you still like your new washing machine?

We are to have some storms tonight and so I gave Lily 1/4 of one of those pills. I am supposed to start with a quarter of one and we can work our way up to three quarters of a pill if we need to. She is sound asleep right now. The storms are not supposed to start for another hour. I wanted to watch her for a bit before they start. The pill will stay in her system 6-8 hours.

GOOD MONDAY, Mar. 27th MY FRIENDS!

Well, we had a nice, productive weekend. Hubby and I went to downtown Boise on Saturday, checked out the Boise Flower and Garden show, then wandered over to the Music festival called Treefort. Needless to say, I have had my fill of people this weekend! LMAO
Sunday hubby and I tackled the yard. While I worked on cleaning out the flowerbeds and spreading some Spring fertilizer. Hubby started tearing out the snow damaged Arborvitae trees. We have 5 of them that need to come down. Sad, but they are all bend apart and broken open and they will not grow back [sign in to see URL] is going to take us many weekends and many trips to the recycle dump to remove those monster [sign in to see URL] must be 15 feet tall at least! Just chock them up to more Winter damage. It DID rain all night, which soaked in the fertilizer and new seed I scattered.
Now, Monday it's laundry [sign in to see URL] I may get outside this afternoon if it's nice and clean the front flower beds out. They are not nearly as bad. Got 3 LARGE 45 gallon black bags of debris out of the back beds!
HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A GREAT MONDAY!

SUSA

None of us would be who we are, or be here, if everything in our lives did not happen exactly as it happened.
I DO STILL LOVE my washing machine! The clothes are actually cleaner! I could not believe that, but they "feel" clean. AND they get spun so dry, that is it cutting down my dryer time by easily half! So saving energy!
I hope you had at least 'one' loud storm, just to judge how well that stuff works for Lily.
Mind me asking what the pill was. Because there is a pill for motion sickness (not Dramamine) that is given and lasts all day. We are going to get some for Misty. As this [sign in to see URL] are thinking about heading down to Corpus Christi, TX. My hubby's oldest sister is Celebrating their 50th Wedding anniversary, on July 1st. Our 41st Anniversary, would be July 3rd. AND they want to have it be a Family reunion. So, we'll see how Mom and Dad are [sign in to see URL] see. But Misty would need the car sick meds.

Oh no! How miserable. Do you use a nose spray, and/or a nasal rinse? I use the rinse to help me, but hubby needed Flonase Spray.

GOOD TUESDAY, Mar. 28th MY FRIENDS!

Well, I was not going to be doing much today. And going shopping tomorrow. But Mom had four prescriptions that need to be picked up and she needs some yogurt and cat food. So I went shopping this morning.
I also had to pick up something that got shipped to the vet. I forgot to change my "ship to" address to my home! I ordered a Sherpa soft carrier for Ginger.
Got those done. Had a doughnut and tea with Mom and [sign in to see URL]'s doing better. Even thinking about going with me Thursday to get her haircut.
Got home, and finished cleaning and pruning all the dead stuff from the FRONT flower beds.
Don't even need to cook supper, as hubby said our new ceiling fan is in, and we need to go pick it up. So we'll eat down in Boise.
Hope you all are having a fabulous day.

SUSA, thank you for that drug name. It is for cats too, so I made a note to ask my vet about it for Misty for traveling.
Glad you did not get hit bad.
I feel sorry for Pastor! emoticon

Poor PR. His place really got hit hard. I hope that he ends up with no out of pocket cost, but that is unlikely to happen.

I had an extremely busy day, today. First I had Roy and he stays a couple hours. Then my grandchildren came and they stay more than their one hour. Then I needed to do my cat litter, but before I got that done, I got a notice about my Family Tree Maker software. It connects up with [sign in to see URL]. It turns out that Family Tree Maker will be obsolete on March 31st, but of course they have a good deal on buying the new program that replaces it, but it has to be bought and installed before March 31. Well, it was a good deal and so I said that I would buy it, which led to downloading it and then when I tried to move my tree from the old Family Tree Maker to the new one, it wanted to know if I had backed up all of the information because the file format was going to change and so of course I had not, so it took me quite awhile to figure out how to do that to my external hard drive. After that I got to the litter and I am finally here.

I saw Pastor Rick's post on Facebook. There is always that "act of God" thing with insurance. I hope his insurance will be helpful. I'm sorry that that had to happen to him and his wife.

I am feeling pretty good now. I do use a nasal spray, sometimes OTC Nasacort or Xlear. Sometimes a colloidal silver spray. I am thinking that my nasal condition is aggravated by dust in the bedroom. emoticon I don't remember the last time I took down the curtains to wash or the lampshade right over my head outside to brush off. I just vacuum the floor and dust the furniture. I always feel my worst in the morning.

Lucy, I am glad that you are feeling better. I use Nasocort and coloidal silver spray, too! I also do my bedroom just like you do and have been thinking the same thing about the dust. I will get the stuff done bit by bit. I hope that cleaning your bedroom fixes your issues.

I am not sure what I am doing today. I need to do a Walmart run today or tomorrow. I have to look at the weather this morning to decide which day.

GOOD WEDNESDAY, [sign in to see URL] MY FRIENDS!

Had a good trip to Boise last night. Picked up our ceiling fan and light kit. Now hubby has to make an appointment with the electrician to install it, because he has to run electrical wiring waaaaay up there, doing it from a crawl space in the ceiling. Don't really have an attic.
Then we had dinner at Marie Callender's in Boise. Which was good, because we did not want to get stuck getting out of Boise during rush hour!
Now today it is raining and very overcast! Glad I got all my stuff done yesterday when it was sunny and nice.
[sign in to see URL] you all have a great day today.

SUSA......you did have a very busy day. Lots of visitors and things to do!
I use the saline rinse, but mostly I need to stay away from to much processed sugar. Don't know why but, if I eat to much in one [sign in to see URL] head, my sinus' get so completely clogged up, it leads to a migraine!

I'm glad you got such a good deal on your Family tree software and got it all installed already.

Yeah, insurances are good at finding a loop hole!
I almost made a quip about "act of God" to him. Decided better of it! emoticon

I have so many cats, and litter boxes, that I need to wash my bedding every week. I also have no curtains. I have vertical blinds, and my lamps are glass shades so I can wipe them down.
I would really like to tear up this OLD carpet and padding and put in some engineered [sign in to see URL] that is going to cost! emoticon

Queeny, any kind of new floor is going to cost a lot. At least most of what you have is very easy to clean.

I think I will wash the curtains the next time I change the bed, in just a few days. The lamp shade is an easy job, just want it to quit raining so I can take it outside.

Susa, I hope you had a nice day.

Big fat April is holding her tail up a lot today. Really! It's about time that girl let that baby out. You know, they are planning to put a camera in the outside pen for the giraffes so we will still be able to watch after the calf comes. It will be around for 8 months or more, they say.

Hi All! I ended up with a busy day, again, and have not even gotten back to the Sunroom. I am going there next, well maybe after The Runboard Directory. I need to see if there are enough contest boards for tomorrow's contest. I did go to Walmart, today, and I made a new signature picture. I also did trash and visited with neighbors. I don't know where the time went. I watched April a lot. She just has to have that baby soon. Her milk is in and she is leaking fluid in the back.

Lucy, I am very glad they will have a camera up outside for us this summer.

GOOD THURSDAY, [sign in to see URL] MY FRIENDS!

Well, the electrician will be here today between 10-11:30 to install the new ceiling fan in our living room. There is no light fixture where we want it (fan does have a light in it), so they will have to install a breaker and wiring in the electrical box and run it across the crawlspace in the garage, and over into the living room. Do not know how long it will take them to do the work, but I probably will not be online during that time.
After that....(depending on how long), Mom and I might go get our hair cut. BUT MAN IS IT WINDY! Just had to take down two of my bird feeders. And it has been raining all night. And when I just looked at the [sign in to see URL] is more rain coming and there is SNOW on the backside of this storm! SO I know it is nasty, windy and cold out there!
I set out my garbage, I just hope that big ole can stays STANDING in this wind!
Now you know what my day will consist of, how about you? What ever you get into, I hope it's a good day.

GEEEEZZ! Gust of wind are hitting this house, that are a wee bit scary! JUST SAYING!

Yeah, we had the kitchen and dining room floors redone about a year after we moved in. I can not stand carpet in my dining room and the previous owner had it there. The rest of the house has 'bluish gray' carpet, and faded slightly [sign in to see URL] linoleum in the bathrooms.
Every Spring, and [sign in to see URL] hubby's company has those big company meetings, and hubby has to fly out for a week. I tear this house apart and shampoo the carpets! emoticon

SUSA, I am really loving that adorable new siggy! emoticon She is sooooo YOU! emoticon
You had a busy day! emoticon

Hi Queeny! I bet you are loving that new fan til now!

I only had one student this afternoon, but I kept her longer since her siblings weren't here. She is working on a song from a movie, on her own. I had found the music for her and she is doing a great job on it!

This is it:
