People hike those ravines all the time because the water reveals cool rocks and geodes.
But you have to be aware of storms miles [sign in to see URL] those can fill up fast even if it's not raining where they are...

Are people often killed there, or are they aware and pay attention?

Not so much up here. But every year down in and around Phoenix and those cities. There are at least 10 or [sign in to see URL] kids who want to cool off, see the small trickle in the arroyo'[sign in to see URL] then get caught in the flash flooding coming down.
Some of them have a flat bottom and very steep "V" sides, to keep people from driving in them..(Yes they are wide enough to drive a car up in some places)...so once in, it's near impossible to get out.
But most places they are fenced with warnings, but the parents can't watch the kids all the time.

ADDING some Sedona photos in here.

Kind of a mishmatch of [sign in to see URL] bought some goodies, and when we get home and get them all unpacked I will photograph them and put them here and at the SUNROOM...
(BUT REMIND ME!) emoticon

Open Range Grill and Tavern restaurant, covered patio, with a thunderstorm going on.

--Log in or sign up to see linked image content--

Coming home last [sign in to see URL] moving across the valley, lit by the fading sunlight.

--Log in or sign up to see linked image content--

Me with Einstein bronze [sign in to see URL] have several of these ones of Einstein bronze statues with different facial expression scattered in through Tlaquepaque square..(Pronounced "T-la-keh-pah-keh." Literally, it means, "place above clay land." )

--Log in or sign up to see linked image content--

More from inside the Tlaquepaque square shopping area. (there are fountains and gardens and different areas, and local artists paint, and play musical instruments all over it.)

--Log in or sign up to see linked image content--

Me with just one of dozens of bronze [sign in to see URL] shows just how LARGE these are. I am 5 foot 10 inches tall.)

And AS YOU CAN [sign in to see URL] on which way you point your camera, or the time of day. You get colors that [sign in to see URL] place is NEVER the same! emoticon
