My apartment photos

I've been thinking where am I, I feel so lost here. I haven't accepted the fact that this is my new home. I've lost almost all of my ambition to do anything outside of this place including my social networks.

Here's a few pictures, I'll take some of the hallways I walk and maybe a selfie of me sitting in the recliner.

I'm sitting near the corner of the living room camera pointed at the kitchenette and bedroom. You can see the bathroom off the bedroom to the left.

Looking right see the 5 ft wide picture window, my furniture and the A/C.
My view out of the window is close trees, the service road and the BBQ grill where I can watch the hamburgers being grilled for BBQ lunch day.

Next photo is my personal space, my recliner, my laptop which I move to my lap and two side tables. The empty table in the corner will be my desk top pc station.

I phoned Lucy this evening, we had a nice little 30 minute chat until the signal started breaking up and ended the call.

Hi HG! It does look like a nice apartment. You need some more comfortable furniture to make it look homey. Right now, it doesn't look like you live there, yet. Are your children going to help you dress it up?

I do imagine that you don't feel at home, yet. It will take awhile. I feel for you.

It is good to see you! You look good. I forgot that you have a selfie stick! It works very well. That new chair looks very comfortable.

HI DI HO HG!! emoticon
I can see why you don't feel at home yet. None of your "stuff" is really there.
I'm sure your house had photos, and books, and stuff like that. You need your kids to get those and hang them!
Other than looking as sterile as a hospital, it's a nice sized apartment..
I love that you have that big window and some [sign in to see URL] need a photo of your view. emoticon
LOVE THE SELFIE STICK!!! Your a teenager at heart.. emoticon

Queeny, the trees are very tall, there's no distance view at all just tall trees. When the BBQ man starts cooking hamburgers on the grill outside and one floor below I will take a picture of that. My apt. is directly over the dining room with the same view out of a window just one floor below me.

I'll try to get some (many) pictures of the halls I walk but when I'm on my way to somewhere I like to keep moving.

Susa, I'm not a homemaker, I haven't a clue to what is needed to make the apt. homey. I know that you can't drive nails in the walls for picture hanging, that's the house handyman's job.
I'm a "bare essentials" kind of guy.

My oldest son and his girlfriend visited yesterday, Liz brought this plant.

Lemon Cypress. Touch it and it spreads lemon scent all over.

Cypres au parfum citronne.

I like the plant and that was very nice of them to bring it.

I think you need a couch for that long wall in the picture I am posting below. I really wish I could see the room as a whole. It would be easier to tell you what you need to make it feel homey. Have you asked about having your picture hung? They need to do that for you. Perhaps that friendly lady who works there, could stand inside your apartment and tell you at least one thing to buy to make it look home. Ask her about whether she thinks a couch would be right. I know you probably don't want to spend a lot of money, but you need to feel at home there or you will be miserable.

[sign in to see URL] nails! We us 3M Command strips for everything! Here at home and especially in the RV because the RV has like paper thin walls or literally walls, cupboards, etc covered in "wood" colored veneer and it tears..

use just about every one of these products in some place or other!

And they can hold some heavy weight! If you get the super duty [sign in to see URL] they all go on or come off the [sign in to see URL] and leaving no mark if you do what they say! emoticon

Queeny, before I buy the wrong Command hanger please tell me if =wl_it_dp_o_pd_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=3PFDZZXSOKMSY&coliid=IIE3TBN]This one would be suitable for a light weight 24 x 30 puzzle picture. It has a notched bar in back for level hanging, would it have to be removed?

I also found the wire backed hook kind too =wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=3PFDZZXSOKMSY&coliid=I2D4SWFGOBWJP0&psc=1]HERE.

Found another goodie, a shirt button tool which I badly need. =wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=3PFDZZXSOKMSY&coliid=I1Y9C]HERE

Re: My apartment photos

HG either of the hangers would work for your Puzzle. The first one is sort of a take on "velcro"...one half goes on your puzzle, the other goes on the wall.
But you don't worry about lining it up, you peel off the backing on one side of the [sign in to see URL] that to your [sign in to see URL] that in all 4 corners. (close to the outer edge to make it easy to take apart if you need to later)
You should have 4 pieces of the 3M, one stuck to each corner, with it's companion, STUCK velcro to velcro..
THEN you peel off the backing on the pieces in each corner, that is going to stick to the wall. AND gently push it to the [sign in to see URL] slight pressure on each of the corners where they are. *MAKE sure you are fairly straight*
Hold for maybe a couple seconds. AND it should just be it....
If you want to remove [sign in to see URL] you pull apart the velcro on each of the four [sign in to see URL] use a plastic knife or butter knife to slide behind the picture, and going between the Velcro to "unzip" it...
Then you hold the top of the piece stuck to the [sign in to see URL] [sign in to see URL] pull [sign in to see URL] stretches waay [sign in to see URL] gum, then just snaps [sign in to see URL] it's clean!

I've never used the "Wire" hanging ones. But I'm certain they hang just as well, but you have to have the wire on the puzzle or photo, then hook that onto the 3M stuck to the wall.

[sign in to see URL] Button Hooker, is AWESOME. We got my Grandmother one when her arthritis got to bad! emoticon

EDITING TO [sign in to see URL] use =pd_sim_60_19?ie=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=ZD1RBHSCN3PFSCCQJ8W0]THESE HOOKS... on the back of the bathroom and bedroom doors. They hold our bathrobes, or towels (as long as they are not super fluffy)...or our [sign in to see URL] messing up the hollow core doors... emoticon
I use these and smaller ones on the kitchen cupboards for holding a towel, or hanging small photos or [sign in to see URL] you want hung in the kitchen, but don't want to mess up the wood on the cupboards.. emoticon

My "scenic" view out of my window, tall trees and a service road. One 24 inch tree fell over the road last week and just missed hitting the building.

BBQ picnic style lunch today. Grilled hamburgers, cheeseburgers, hotdogs, corn on the cob, potato or macaroni salad, iced tea or iced coffee served on plastic plates and the knives, forks and spoons were heavily chromed plastic. Everything was disposable.

Can you believe I have the same south facing window with a view of the full moon as I had at home?

YOU must have a set of binoculars!

AND now I'm hungry!! emoticon

I'm happy you actually have the same view.. emoticon

I heartily agree, you need pictures and furniture to soften the look of your apartment. I also think that your view of the trees is very pleasant. It sure beats looking out the window at another building.

I hope you will be able to get interested in social media again so that there is more to your world than just your immediate surroundings. You need something to cheer you up.

Re: My apartment photos

so glad I found my way here HG... you know that photo of your view, I thought that was not dissimilar to the view from your old house, but thought you could not agree with me, but as I scrolled down, I see that you that that also!

now I see these posts are going way back to August! bad of me not to find my way here more often.

My Jim and I are beginning to feel our age now, and we are still in our own place, hope we don`t have to move to what we call sheltered accomodation, it is not an easy move for many people, but many other people (here) say they wish they had done is earlier.

I also think that "home" is not the four walls but our bits and bobs, we did a move to North Yorkshire some years back, and had to live in temporary accomodation without our own stuff,, not the best of moves, that is when I found that I need my little bits around me..

I do hope that things are more settled for you now HG, any chance of any up to date photos?
