So tell me about your day

Mine is snowy and windy.

I guess that is the way winter goes. :run:

We are having a lot of wind today, too!

I haven't seen any snow yet today, though.

Tonight, we are going to a Soup Dinner with a church group. One couple has it every year, and they make the soup (3 different kinds) and cornbread and the rest of us bring drinks and desserts.

I'm making a chocolate cake. It is already baked and is cooling now. If I have time, I will put icing on it, but if I don't have time, I will just put some powdered sugar on top.

This is the first time that I can remember going when the weather was not very bad. It is usually around the first week in January, but this year it had to be changed because the couple had a death in the family.

Hi Sue! I hope you have a fun evening. Your cake sounds delicious. I would love the powdered sugar top.

It has gotten sunny here. Someone came and wanted to shovel the driveway this morning and I said lets wait (because no one is coming and I didn't think it was all that deep) and it has pretty much melted. I am glad I didn't pay for that.

I could do with the weather we have been having all winter long.

Today at church while I was in choir I thought the song book in front of me had moved, so I looked closer and a spider was crawling out of it!!!! I picked the book up and dropped on the pew in front of me. The choir director was sitting there and he gave me a funny look and I said spider! He nearly jumped out of his skin. emoticon

My day started off great. The light went on in back and when Nick looked out there was a Fox. He/she was beautiful! Just stood there and looked at us, looking at him/her. Then a raccoon walked over to argue who got the left over chicken we put out last night. Nick opened the door and they both took off.

I want a fox....

Foxes are very beautiful! I love them too! I am so glad that you got to see him.

One night on my way home from work, I saw movement in a field, so I angled my car to light up the field and there was a fox dancing and kicking his feet up. He did that the whole way around the field. He was sooooo happy! It was a joy to watch.

Susa, I'll bet your fox had it's eyes and ears on a mouse or vole.

You know, I don't think so. He just acted joyous and he threw his back legs out and jumped up in the air and he danced the whole way around the fence line. It was a long way around, too! I probably sat there 15 or 20 minutes and it was dark out. The car headlights illuminate him.

Today was very warm for February. Piano students came in sweaters and the kids that came complained because they had to wear jackets on the playground.

Nanny, I hope that things warm up for you. This winter has been very unusual for us.

Spring comes in 48 days!

Today was a beautiful day here in Ohio.

I think it reached about 60 degrees.

I had a very good day at work and I went for a 40 minute walk outside at lunchtime.

I left promptly at 4:00 pm so that I could be home to babysit for our grandson, Riley, because his Mom had to take his sister, Josie, to an appointment.

We played Crazy Eights and Monster Match, and Riley and I both had a fun time.

Then, DH came home, we ate dinner with Riley, and we had ice cream sandwiches for dessert.

I asked Riley what he was going to say if he had to have another dinner at home or if they were going out to dinner. He said he would say that he wasn't hungry and could he go play a game. (We weren't expected to feed him dinner because he brought a snack, PBJ sandwich and some milk, but since we were just having some leftover Shepherd's Pie for dinner, we asked him if he wanted some and he said, "Yes!")

It sounds like you had a really nice time with Riley. Riley is a very smart little guy. I would want Shepherd's Pie too! That is a very good dinner.

Hi Becky! I bet you will be glad when it all gets settled down.

I am enjoying this unusually warm. It isn't going have the fleas and other bad bugs killed off though. I have almost thought I should start up the flea meds but none of my critters go outside so I am going to wait until March.

Re: So tell me about your day

My weather is changing to cooler temps, the next 4 days it will be in the upper 30s then the next 10 days will be in the low 40s.

I usually get active Lyme ticks between the end of June and the 5th of July so this year I might have to put my kitty's tick repellent on at an earlier date.

During early summer my kitty sleeps in my old flower bed and she gets loaded with Lyme ticks then comes in the house and jumps in my lap, my hands and arms get covered with her ticks. Yes I've gotten infected with Lyme disease a couple times but no more if I'm quick putting the repellent on.

Yes I did and with the first infection I knew nothing about Lyme disease symptoms and I didn't see my doctor until it was almost too late for treatment.

I've been bitten a few more times but I immediately saw my doctor who would give me 2 doxycycline tablets to take at once as a prevention.
No more infections for me if I'm careful. emoticon
