Tomorrow is going to be my busy day. I must leave my house at 1 PM, stop at the pharmacy for one med refill, continue down the highway and stop at the bread and milk store to buy 6 or 7 loaves of bread, drive about 3 miles to my blood sample lab then start up the other highway and stop in town at the supermarket for some groceries and return straight home via the other highway.

Oh btw, I D/L'd a new smartphone app which I'll try on my lab tech lady, she'll love it. It's a heart pulse tester/reader, it uses your finger and the camera flash with the camera. The app turns on the flash while taking sample pictures of the blood color, bright red is a heart beat, light red is a rest between beats, it counts for 15 seconds and calculates a BPM. Pretty clever, huh?

That app really does sound clever! Let us know what your lab tech thinks.

There is an app that tells which notes are out of tune on the piano. I would love an app like that. I am forever griping about different notes I think are out of tune. I would love a gadget that told me exactly.

I hope you get everything done tomorrow, HG. I wish you good weather.

Yep, there's probably an app for tuning a piano, I just saw an app for tuning a guitar but you'll likely need a smartphone such as an iPhone or Droid to run the app.

I don`t "understand" what an app is, but my ds has recently acquired an old piano that needs tuning.. so if one got the app, and found out which notes were needing to be re tuned does it tell you how to tune? I can`t but wonder

That is so cool, Queeny. I can imagine lying there in bed and hearing the rain and the coyotes yipping. Not so sure I would want to hear them yipping in my yard, but it's neat.

I have heard bobcats making noises at night when we lived on the farm, and owls, whippoorwills, and such. And moose. We even had a bull moose come up on the front porch when I was about 3 years old. It looked into the sewing room window and scared my poor mom just about to death. Nice to live near nature, but living IN nature scares the BeeJeebees out of a person sometimes.

My days of late are going super well at work!

I have a very good student lab assistant now, and she is extremely dependable, which makes my life so much easier, compared to when I have a student who is constantly absent.

I knew that she would work out, because she has the same birthday as our dear Susa!

I hope to have her a long while!

This is her second year of undergrad, but I think she has enough credits to be third year, because she has advanced placement credit, credit by exam, and I think some college credits from when she was in high school, too.

I think she will graduate with her BS in Spring 2013, and will then be in the Doctor of Pharmacy program, which is a 4 year program.

She has already been admitted to the Doctorate program, through the Early Admission Pathway, right from high school as long as she keeps up her grades, and I'm sure she will! She doesn't even have to take the Pharmacy Admission Test, which most students have to take before being admitted to the Doctorate program.

I'm hoping that she will still work for a year or so after she is in the Doctorate program.

What I am really hoping is that she will be the last student I have before I retire!

I will probably be retiring within the next 2 years or so. I am already 65 years old, will be 66 in July, and I don't think I'll work much more than 2 more years.

We'll see! emoticon

HI DI HO GANG!
Not much going on for me today. Other than having to clean our wee bathroom, the day is pretty much up to me.
Just hang out online, cause [sign in to see URL]!
As I was having my coffee this [sign in to see URL] cup, a pair of Gambel's Quail ran right outside my window. She was not in as big a hurry as he was, and kept stopping to eat a bug or [sign in to see URL] he'd run back, "jabber" at her, and off they'd go again. Totally hilarious! Especially the way they [sign in to see URL] little short legs, going a million miles an hour, under this 'round' body and that little feather on top of their heads, bounces around like a ball on a car antenna! emoticon

What is retirement? I thought hubby did that when he 'retired' from the [sign in to see URL] he's working longer hours now! emoticon

AS FOR ME TODAY..
Need to grab a shower, and clean a bit. We'll probably be out running about all weekend. At least tomorrow for certain. We'll be wandering the ]FOUNTAIN HILLS GREAT FAIR...(link here) Could take the greater part of the day, with close to 480 venders...
So who knows, by Sunday I may be icing down the old sciatica/back!
But [sign in to see URL] a few things, so I should be around off and on all day.

SUE.. they are a real hoot! emoticon

HI DI [sign in to see URL]'m so glad she does not need to have her teeth cleaned. I know when the cats need theirs done, it's quite expensive, as they have to put them under anesthesia.... :nope:

Sorry that I'm running late, woke up at 5am with one heck of a migraine. Woke hubby up, fed the cats, scooped the litter box, turned on the coffee and took my meds and went back to sleep! Just now getting about. Migraine is a bit better, but it feels like my head is in a fog.. emoticon

I forgot to tell you that Lily is to start taking Benadryl 2x a day to see if we can get her breathing better. The vet thinks she has allergies. He did not see Lily today, but we talked about her. He saw her a month ago.

I was in a big hurry when I was out and about today. I had everything timed to get places early. The first place I went I got within a quarter mile of where I was going and there was a train sitting across the road. I had to back up and go out around. I still got there on time but not early. From there I had an appointment with my chiropractor and I needed to hurry because there wasn't much time between appointments and a policeman pulled out in front of me and blocked the road and left a funeral procession out. That put me in slow motion the rest of the way there which was several miles.

Oh, well. I made it everywhere I needed to go. I just needed to slow down. emoticon

Morning Friends...

Boy is it pouring rain here and freaking windy! Had gusts up to 50mph!
Been raining since about 11:00pm last night. The mountains and passes around this valley (the largest Mountain,of course being Mount Shasta) are to be getting "FEET" of snow today, and tonight. Then it all lets up a bit for [sign in to see URL] starts all over again with worse winds, but warmer temps and more [sign in to see URL] that means massive flooding, when it starts to rain on "FEET'S" of [sign in to see URL] should be fine where we are here. And everyone who was here and had to travel, got back home safe and sound. It just looks like we won't get to my Parents until at least April. And that is if it decides to be SPRING! [sign in to see URL]'s dark, windy, cold and pouring [sign in to see URL] day! I think this emoticon will help!

emoticon Only getting [sign in to see URL]! By Saturday or Sunday the snow levels are to drop down to about 800 [sign in to see URL] get it then.. emoticon
Until then [sign in to see URL] pouring rain here. There was a 'bridge' that went over to the other side of the park, crossing a 'small' [sign in to see URL] is no longer small, and which puts the bridge now under water! I think those people over there are the [sign in to see URL] least I hope so. There is a second, much smaller, lightweight bridge that cars can cross, it is much [sign in to see URL] no way in hell could a motorhome, trailer or 5th wheel come over that thing. And I do not see the rain and or snow stopping anytime soon:

Today
Rain 55 °F
80% chance of precipitation

Tonight Rain 50 °F
100% chance of precipitation

Tomorrow
Rain 57 | 43 °F
100% chance of precipitation

Friday
Rain 59 | 37 °F
100% chance of precipitation

Saturday
Chance of Rain 45 | 34 °F
40% chance of precipitation

Sunday
Chance Rain 50 | 34 °F
50% chance of precipitation

But Sat and Sun. with the night temps as low as 34 degrees, they are predicting snow levels down to 800 [sign in to see URL]!*insert sarcasm here*

But I should be [sign in to see URL] can't go outside for a walk! Might move campgrounds this weekend, if we can find a decent one for cheaper. We'll see. :hmmm:
