Re: Medieval helpdesk

That reminds me of trying to teach some people how to do simple tasks on a computer nowadays.

"Press any key."

"Which key do I push?"

"Any key."

"What's the any key?"

"Just push the space bar."

"What's the space bar?"

I actually remember an exchange like that with one of my "superiors" in a former job. emoticon

I've never been paid for teaching, but maybe I should consider a career in that. Do you think 40 is too old to start? emoticon

Did anyone notice at the end of the video the help guy laid a help manual in front of the newbie but the newbie had already forgotten his instruction and couldn't open the manual because it was wrong side up?

None of the new computers come with a manual--well, actually, they do--you have to open the computer and set it up, turn it on, etc. to read the manual. Darn STUPID! So people who are trying to learn computers are SOOL.

My new computer has no manual! I could hardly believe it! I can read it online. I suppose it is in the computer somewhere. I haven't really needed it.
